LET THE “ARSENAL REVOLUTION” BEGIN.

An Arsenal fan’s plea for Revolution against Kroenke

Posted on August 21, 2013 by Bob

Revolution under way at Arsenal, be a part of it. By Captain Jack

To all fellow GOONERS who have been taken for a ride for the past 8 years and looks like its going to happen for the 9th year running, unless we start doing something about it. Let me explain…

After an exiting and action packed transfer window we are off to a flying start, a Seven Nil rout against lowly Aston Villa. This is what I was hoping would be in the Sunday Newspapers after the big announcement from Ivan back in July regarding Arsenal’s new found financial power. However in reality it has turned out into the same old story, starting a new season on the back foot. Not just the back foot, it looks like this time around the owner and his faithful team have buried Arsenal a thousand feet under the ground.

We are the 4th biggest football club in the world, according to some figures. Let me repeat, 4TH BIGGEST CLUB IN THE WORLD and we can’t field a proper starting eleven in the very first game of the season. If we had injuries at the end of a long season competing for trophies and going for the title we can understand but the first game of the season with the transfer window having been open for almost 3 months now, we can’t have enough players in the squad to play the season opener is total DISGRACE. Look at the other big clubs and they can field two quality teams right away and we are struggling to field one.

After what happened last season and the season before and before….the same thing that’s been happening for last 8 years its absolutely absurd that we haven’t learnt our lesson. I’m not saying this about the Arsenal Board or the Owner Silent Stan or Le Professor, but to all the faithful GOONERS. Year in year out we are getting our season tickets renewed, year on year we are having full attendance at the Emirates for all our home games and yet what have we fans got from AFC empty promises and a trophy cabinet full of dust.
When will we learn from our mistake? It’s high time we do it now. Arsenal is a Big franchise for the owner, a money making asset, that’s it. There is no emotional value attached with the club for him. He doesn’t care a damn about the fans and their feelings or the competitive nature of the club. All he is doing is holding 41583 shares of Arsenal and is hoping to cash out at some point in the future for a large profit.

So how can we make the owner finally realize that the bluff has to stop. Well according to various estimates match day income accounts to almost 40% of the total revenue at Arsenal. That’s a big chunk. Add to that the various commercial revenue from merchandising which accounts to another 15% and we have around 50% plus of total revenue being generated from us the Gooners.

It’s time that we stop this revenue till the owner buckles up or the owner leaves for good so that the club can start going in the right direction again. I know its not easy to stop all the revenue at a time but its the right time we start taking steps towards it.

So starting from the Fulham away game next Saturday followed by the big CL qualifier game against Fenerbahce on 27th August, I request all the GOONERS not to go to the match. I know there are many fans who have already renewed their season ticket or have already purchased the tickets for these games. I know its tough on all the fans who have already spent their hard earned money for these games, however if we want our beloved club to start going in the right direction again its time we take some hard decisions.

Also for the big CL game against Fenerbahce I request all the fans to go to Emirates however not inside but outside so that we can stage one of the biggest protests against the lack of ambition from the Owner and the Manager. We can have a few fans go inside with banners protesting the same so that GOONERS around the world will know what’s happening. But all the rest of the fans should start protesting outside the Emirates.
Things can change; during this one week we may sign couple of good players we may win both the away games, however we cannot let it stop. We need to start taking hard decisions right away, for the good of our beloved club and make it clear what Arsenal has been and what it will stand for in the future.

We are a club with great history and tradition, a club that has contributed immensely to the footballing world, a club with vision and a club which will remain a big force in the world of football. So please spread the below message to all the GOONERS around the world and especially in UK. Let’s use all the resources available, all the social networking sties, all the fans forums and the blogs

DO NOT GO TO THE FULHAM AWAY GAME WE NEED EMPTY AWAY STANDS AT CRAVEN COTTAGE.

LET US PROTEST OUTSIDE THE EMIRATES ON 27th AUG DURING THE FENERBACHE GAME. DO NOT GO INSIDE WE NEED TO HAVE THE EMIRATES EMPTY. ZERO HOME SUPPORT.

LET THE “ARSENAL REVOLUTION” BEGIN.

URGENT CHANGE NEEDED AT ARSENAL.

WE EITHER CHANGE OR NOT COMPETE WITH THE BIG CLUBS LIKE WE USED TO 8 YEARS AGO.

Arsenal is a club which used to compete with the best clubs in the world some time back but with the current transfer policy we can not.

Most clubs in the world would like to promote junior players to the first team but not most of them would make it due to the increased demand for success which limits giving young lads a chance. You may point out Barcelona who won the Champions League with 7 La Masia graduates but they also managed to go for Neymar, Ibrahimovic, Villa at big money which has never happened at Arsenal showing that you cant do without strengthening from outside.

We have an academy Hale End where the likes of Ashley Cole, Gibbs and Jack Wilshere were produced but it is still not enough, Arsene has concentrated on the youth policy from 1996 upto now the likes of Sanogo are still coming in but of recent we released 10 youngsters from the club U-21 team because they were no longer useful to the club including Hale End graduates showing that we are not that successful there.
The main way to succeed in today's football is to buy quality players from outside who are proven and ready to deliver, believe it or not the market is now inflated, money we used to buy the good players we had before can not do that now, it is not a surprise to me that we don't have a Bergkamp, Henry, Pires, Fabregas or even Van Persie at the Emirates now.

We made £10m and £6m bids for Cabaye and Williams respectively according to reports, Newcastle manager Alan Perdew responded by blasting us that the bid is 'disrespectful and you would agree with him because in today's world there is no where you can get a player of Cabaye's quality, proven at 10m. I really do not know what those who made those bids were thinking, they made me also feel ashamed to be honest. Players who can help us like Paul Pogba of Juventus their starting price is £20m. We missed out on players like Higuain because of our outdated transfer formula and it seems the trend is still on because the men in charge do not look like changing soon.

The bottom line is that we either change or continue sinking and we shall not get what we want on a cheap may be another Koscielny but may also not be good in the first season or so.
If you look at what Spurs have done you have got to be worried. Liverpool are not also far away, they retained Suarez and added some new faces, we only have Sanogo who came on a free for Auxerre. A big club cannot be built like that however intelligent your manager is in this era. You can tell me one you know of.
We love the club that's why we need change not just sit and relax like Stan when things are going from bad to worse.

Till then Love you all Gooner Family

SQUAD STILL THIN

ARSENAL 3-1 MAN CITY: WE STILL NEED 3 QUALITY ADDITIONS

Arsenal finished their pre season in perfect style with a 3-1 win over former Premier League champs Man City in Helsinki, Finland. Goals from Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud were enough to ensure this morale boosting victory. City managed to pull back one in the 80th minute through new signing Alvaro Negredo but Arsenal had already done enough to take the win.

Walcott and Arteta with the trophy won in Helsinki (Arsenal.com)

Man City are one of the best teams in the League and beating them shows that our squad has potential but we need to add players in three areas to be on the safer said, that is: a defender, defensive midfielder and a striker, we have not spent a penny in the window despite selling some players and releasing others on a free.

Arsene named 20-year-old Colombian trialist Sebastian Perez who plays for his home country club Atletico Nacional in Saturday's friendly against City and gave him some 20 minutes a sign showing that he impressed in training and may sign a permanent deal, he slotted in well in defensive midfield after replacing Arteta and he was confident with possession though he got a yellow card for a late challenge.
Youngster Isaac Heyden defender/ defensive midfielder a Hale-End graduate also came on for the last 2 minutes in his first outing with the senior team and he would be happy the manager thought about him.

Reports that Luis Gustavo may join us are circulating and the metro reported that his agent said a £14m bid has been accepted only terms remaining to be discussed but many other genuine sources have said it not true and metro quotes are completely wrong.
The boss said in the Daily Mail that our squad is thin and we need a striker, a far as Gustavo is concerned nothing is close but he did not deny his interest.
The Mirror also reported that Arsenal believe an 14m pound deal will get them Gustavo but all still speculation.

I would prefer Gundogan but Gustavo is more likely to join than Gundogan so I would welcome him.

Gustavo set for £14m Arsenal switch

Gustavo helped Brazil win the confederations cup.

As far as a striker is concerned, we cant rely on Giroud for the entire season in 3 or 4 competitions with more than 50 games we need another quality one, Suarez would be the best but so far Liverpool have kept their no sale stance whether they will change or no, Arsene is waiting in the wings and his determination to get Suarez shows you we need another striker. Lewandowski would be a good buy but trust me getting him isn't that easy.

In defense we need one more defender to cover up for Per or Kos, Vermaelen is out injured we don't know whether he will come back better than he left because he wasn't the Vermaelen we all know, an injury to Koscielny may affect us dearly so we need a hard center back to do the job, Sagna can cover up there but we all know his main duty and due to the fact that Jenkinson is still not at a level where you can rely upon him all season we need Sagna at right back and Jenkinson to assist him.
At left back, Gibbs and Monreal will do the job.

In goal, i trust Szczesny as our long time number 1, all he need is games to improve his confidence and he will be good to go, Fabianski can stay to back up his compatriot as young Argentine Damien Martinez takes up the 3rd choice role.
If the boss manages to beef up the squad in such a way, the chances will be high we can win a trophy next season.

SUAREZ CHANCES WANING, DO WE HAVE PLAN B?

John W. Henry: WE CAN'T SELL, AND ESPECIALLY TO ARSENAL.

Liverpool owner J. W. Henry confirmed that Liverpool are not selling Suarez irrespective of the bid made for the 26-year-old striker. He was quoted by Sky sports saying; "It's a football reason, it's not about finances. That's why, at this point, so late in the window, with everyone who's already moved or isn't moving, we can't replace him. So, for football reasons, we can't sell, and especially to Arsenal."

article-2355588-1AA7616F000005DC-687_634x416
Mocked up picture of  Suarez in an Arsenal jersey, looks like it is not going to be happen.

By the look of things we aren't going to get Suarez, though the player has played his part in trying to force a move to Arsenal and still pleads for an amicable solution for him to leave Anfield but Liverpool have kept their stance from the owner to the fans. Henry even went on to speak to our CEO Ivan Garzidis and told them they aren't selling.
Manager Brendan Rogers also went on to say he never gave him his word that if they don't qualify for the Champions League he will leave.
The clause he also mentioned about last time in the contract PFA both Gordon Taylor said it does not guarantee Liverpool to sell the player in case an offer above 40 million Pounds is made so arbitration wont also work and now it all due to Liverpool's decision.

Honestly, we have ran out of time and our squad is light we need additions in time to adapt and help us in the titile push. With the Premeier League commencing next weekend we are already caught up by time.
We have spent alot of time on one player who we have less chances of getting as of now but it was worthy because he wants to leave and hes already in the premeir league so no adaptation needed, you can compare him with Van Persie to United.

Now the biggest question is; Do we have plan B? We need a marquee signing(s) who would lift the team, such signings arent easy to get and their teams do not want to release them. You can talk of Robert Lewandowski as an option but you would not know how he will fare in the EPL. We need a Striker and Defensive midfielder basically of good quality not youngsters or free agents. My best options would be Lewandowski and Gundogan but they are not easy to get, an easier similar option for defensive midfield would be Luis Gustavo of Bayern Munich but the club seems not to be interesetd.

As most of us know Arsene, any thing can happen because he always keep his cards close to his chest.
Do you remember when he signed 5 player in less than 48 hours?
Lets hope he surprises with quality players to help us end our 8 barren years and win our first trophy at the Emirates.

GUNDOGAN, THE KIND OF GEM WE NEED AT ARSENAL

Ilkay Gundogan linked again.

Borrussia Dortmund and Germany box to box 22-year-old midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has been linked with a £20M move to the Emirates stadium.
Ilkay Gundogan Real Madrid v Borussia Dortmund
Gundogan moving past it out with Kaka in last season's CL semi final
It is less than 2 weeks to the kick-off of the Premier League and the activity in the transfer window is expected to intensify, as of Arsenal we take long negotiating and scouting, whatever you may call it to an extent that its only 20-year-old striker Yaya Sanogo to show whom we got on a free after playing out his contract at Auxerre.

You cant write about all transfer targets but some just make the hair on the back of your neck stand so they really deserve writing about. Ilkay Gundogan is the type of player we need in our midfield, a player who can do anything from defending to attacking. The 22 year old has enough experience, has played at the highest level any footballer can dream of as we all saw him scoring in the champions League final versus Bayern at the end of last season and probably his footballing knowledge is way way ahead his age, he has power, he is technical, has a very powerful shot and can be assigned any duty in the midfield and do it beyond expectation.

Him and Suarez will make us title contenders without any doubt but getting top players at Arsenal is not that easy due to our outdated transfer policy in the market which has been inflated by money-bags all over Europe.

HOPE YOU ARE ENJOYING THE SUMMER GOONERS.

HEY GOONERS, HOPE YOU ARE ENJOYING THE SUMMER.

The summer transfer window was officially opened on 1st July and will close on the 31st of August, when you look at that period you may say that we still have time but that might not be the case.
We need quality players just like any other big ambitious club but the more we delay the more we lose out on them, to talk about a few, there is Jovetic who we were heavily linked with but now Man City has already done the deal and he will be rallying against us, Higuain is on the verge of a move to Napoli, after the sell of Cavanni to PSG they have a vacancy to fill and the money to help them so anything can happen. The point is the more we delay the more we lose out.

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis alongside Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger
Men running things, Arsene Wenger and Ivan Garzidis

To some gooners its hard to fathom why the delay but to some its not, reports have always claimed that we have £70m to spend on the strengthening of the squad which we haven't done up to now, the club CEO Ivan Garzidis also said we can compete with the big clubs now money-wise but it has all remained just mere talk. To those who know the frugality and haggling of the club its not a surprise that we only have; Yaya Sanogo, Daniel Crowley, Julio Pleguezuelo and Jamaal Raage who we all nearly got for free because we paid just small compensations. Of the four, only Sanogo will be in the first team without an immediate impact on the title charge others will go to the U-21s.
With the oligarch's invading the game it is becoming increasingly difficult for us to claim silverware like we did nearly a decade ago, Abramovich started it at Chelsea now it has spread to Man City, PSG and Monaco, it is all about money now that's why Man City and PSG are Champions, Chelsea won the UCL and Monaco may also do it soon.

Arsenal's no show in transfer business is frustrating most especially if you see our rivals like Chelsea and City strengthening despite finishing ahead of us last season. That frustration led to some gooners losing faith in Arsene and the Board then called on Usmanov to save the situation but up to now we are still in the same situation and only the board knows when it will end.

We have managed to reduce on the squad by selling some fringe players, like Mannone to Sunderland and some have gone for free like Santos to Flamingo and others loaned out like Coquelin and Djuorou to German clubs, that's a good gesture if they are to be replaced with quality players. A host of U-21s where also released by the club.
We need 'that' signing(s) to increase the title-winning morale in the team but whether it will be made its down to Arsene and the board.

In conclusion, we all hope the club shall sign atleast two quality players but do not hold your breath, its Arsene and Ivan running things and if you do not know them, they do things their own way you may wait and wait in vain but hope they will surprise us and do something special this time........
Hold you breath at you own risk!!!

Till then, like and follow please, comments are most welcome
Thanx for reading.

ARSENAL PRE-SEASON GAMES SO FAR.

ARSENAL PRE-SEASON GAMES SO FAR.

Dear gooners,

We have played 3 pre seaosn games so far scored 7:0, 7:1 and 3:1 against The Indonesia Dream Team, Vietnam and Nagoya Grampus of Japan's J League respectively. I believe our boys have got a nice work out in the humid warm climate of Tropical Asia but on a sad note we have got some injures to goalkeeper Wojeich Szczesny (back) and Laurent Koscielny (Ankle).

 http://www.arsenal.com/assets/_files/desktops/jul_13/gun__1374137997_3.jpg

Despite the goals we have had some really nice moments to relish: We have managed to score 17 goals, regardless of the opposition a goal is a goal and that's why our players celebrate, its gives that good confidence to the players and start feeling 'yeah we can do it' and to strikers like Giroud who has manged to bag 6 in 3 games it so important to keep scoring.

The boss has been able to see where we are short and hope he will add some players there like in the central defense where Sagna has been called on to play due to injuries to Kos and Vermaelen meaning Per is the only formidable remaining, we also need a striker, Poldi has been barely played there and when Giroud goes off we put there Chuba Akpom, we cant rely on Chuba, Sanogo or Campbell in case Giroud is out.

The youngster have been given a chance to claim a first team places most notably being Gedion Zelalem who I don't want to dwell on due to the more than enough hype surrounding him despite being on 16, he has shown great potential, others being: Damien Martinez, Chuks Aneke, Thomas Eisfeld, Sergi Gnabry, Ryo Miyaichi, Kris Olsson and Chuba Akpom. They have all impressed whenever given a chance.

Aaron Ramsey has continued with his rise to becoming a fans' favorite by bossing the midfield linking up play well nearly claiming his best form and fully gaining back confidence after his leg break sometime back, Wilshere is also getting some minutes in his first pre season in around 2 seasons which will help us starting the season in full throttle of-course we all know how we need him.

Santi Carzola and Nacho Monreal are away due to an extended break after the Confederations cup cameo with Spain but they will be joining soon.
Youngster who has just signed a long term contract with the club Hector Bellerin is also away with the Spain U-19 team playing European Championships, Yaya Sanogo is also away after winning the U-20 World Cup with France so he is still on holiday. Hope they will join very soon to enhance the new season preparations.

Next is Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan on Friday 26 at 1130 GMT. Hope to continue firing.

Till then, like and follow, comments welcome.

CAZORLA TO ATLETICO MADRID? NO MARCA!

CAZORLA TO ATLETICO MADRID? NO MARCA!

One of Spain's most respected news outlets Marca reported on Wednesday that our player of the season 28-year-old Santi Cazorla has agreed terms with Atletico Madrid and it is now remaining with the clubs to negotiate a fee for the diminutive play maker.

 Santi Cazorla
Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla linked to Atletico Madrid

The bid was said to be in the region of £17.5m and it is understood that Atleti have a lot of transfer kitty after trading their top marksman Radamel Falcao to Monaco for a reported fee of £50m and replaced him with David Villa from Barcelona who was unveiled recently, they went on to say that Atleti are highly interested in Cazorla and their Chairman Miguel Angel Gil is already in London to negotiate the deal.

However, according to the Independent, Arsenal has issued a hands-off warning to Atleti and told them Cazorla is not for sale at any price.
Cazorla recently on leave after a spell with Spain in the just concluded Confederation cup the reason as to why he is not with us on the Asian tour plus his compatriot Nacho Monreal has not said a thing about the rumour.

Some reports quoted Atletico Madrid President saying 'We have no news of Cazorla, they are inventions that occur every day.' Marca, why would you do such a thing?
Some sources believe may be its the agent of Cazorla who made it up in order for his client to get a pay rise at Arsenal.

Since the departure of Vieira in 2005 after the FA Cup triumph it has been a trend at Arsenal to lose our best players to other big clubs either for money, trophies or footballing reasons as the manager states it until to the latest departure of Robin Van Persie to Man United.

Our rivals, United, City and Chelsea have gone through managerial changes and its the best time for us to end the 8-year trophy-less run. One of the way we can do it is to keep the squad we have and if possible add atleast 2 quality players who can improve the team not youngsters to learn on the job.
My best buys would be a defensive a midfielder and a striker, I cant mention the names because you all know how Arsene does his business.

If we happen to lose one of our best players this summer then we shall move backward and next season will be dry too, I believe the manager knows we have suffered enough and cant let this happen again this summer, it will make our status as a big ambitious club questionable once again and increase pressure on the management.

GEDION ZELALEM, THE NEW DAWN AT ARSENAL.

IN GEDION ZELALEM WE HAVE FABREGAS AND VIEIRA COMBINED.

Well its not a good things usually to praise youngster but there are some you see and just cant do without it, when you see 20-year-old Bernard of Atletico MG and Brazil playing, you say what a talent, it just comes involuntarily.
Now here comes our own Zelalem, spotted in the US by our scouting network the Germany U-16 international of Ethiopian descent in not a usual 16-year-old.

http://www.ethiosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Gedion-Zelalem-Arsenal1.jpg
Zelalem playing for the U-21 last season.

He has just turned 16 and granted to play for Arsenal towards the end of last season he played some games for the under 21s making his impressive debut against Liverpool U-21s.
Here are some interesting facts about tihs talented lad;
He was training with the club before turning 16 and was the best in a fitness workout given to them by the fitness coaches including first team players.
When fellow youngster Sergi Gnabry 18, was asked who is the most talented among them all he said Zelalem despite being only 15 by then.
The manager on several occasions has invited him to train with the first team despite being too young and it was no surprise naming him in the party to Asia.
As fellow first year scholars Daniel Crowley and Jamaal Raage were making U-21 debuts he was with the first team making his first team debut and never disappointed with a commanding display after coming on as a second half substitute.

Zelalem has the qualities of Vieira and Fabregas combined, he can pick up the game from deep in the midfield and deliver that killer pass to the strikers to do what they can do best. He can locate teammates with a lot of ease and has superb game reading despite being 16 with a lot of time to improve.
We hope he develops to his full potential and give the best to the team in future, all factors remaining constant and according to what we have seen Gedion Zelalem will be our new Cesc Fabregas and/or Patrick Vieira.

Love you all, like and follow please.

YOUNGSTERS CRISIS STILL ON AT ARSENAL.

YOUNGSTERS CRISIS STILL ON AT ARSENAL DESPITE MASSIVE EXODUS IN THE SUMMER.

Dear Gooners,

Of recent the club released more than 10 youngsters who were not in the future plans of the manager but it seems the club still has a lot of youngsters of which their future is not known.
Lets put our focus on the strikers following the good news that Costa Rican youngster who has scored 7 goals in 25 caps for Costa Rica Joel Campbell got his long awaited work permit so now he is eligible to play for the club in the Premier League.

Joel Campbell in action for Costa Rica
Campbell celebrate a goal for Costa Rica (Arsenal.com)
He signed for the club two years ago then he was loaned straight away to Lorient in the Ligue 1 and last season he spent a Loan spell at Real Betis in the La Liga who are keen to retain him but reports said Arsenal is pricing them out, he has now got a work permit and what next for him?He might be subject to another loan spell and I would like it to be in the premier league with news saying newcomers Crystal palace are interested in him after the departure of Wilfred Zaha to Man United.

The Club of recent completed the singing of French U-20 world champion Yaya Sanogo from Auxerre on a free transfer, there is an injured Benik Afobe whose chances of staying at the club are waning dramatically, now Joel Campbell and the ever rising 18-year-old Chuba Akpom who scored on his first team outing against the Indonesia Dream Team (IDT) after becoming the first choice striker for the U-21s last season.

There are many other highly talented youngsters at the club as some of you saw them against IDT; Chuks Aneke, Sergi Gnabry, Tomas Eisfield, Kris Olsson and 16-year-old Gideon Zelalem.Competition looks to be tough and whoever will make it among them to stay at the club for longer period will be the winner based on hardwork and the manager's decision but all the boys are talented without a doubt.

Till then, love you all!

BELLERIN SIGNS LONG TERM DEAL, DO WE NEED A NEW RIGHT-BACK AT ARSENAL?

DO WE NEED A NEW RIGHT-BACK AT ARSENAL?

Dear Gooners,
Our young 18-year-old right-back Hector Bellerin signed a long term contract as the club announced. Long term contracts are usually not less than 3 years so I suspect the young Spaniard signed 4 or 5 years.
Signed from Barcelona in 2001 after going through their famous La Masia academy with fellow compatriot Jon Toral Harper, the young lad has been showing great potential at the club and has developed more. He showed it in the Next-Gen tournament, made the manager name him in two of the League cup fixtures last season against Reading and Coventry and now he is with the Spain U-19 team at the European Championships in Lithuania.
Now we have 3 right-backs in Sagna (30) who has one year remaining on his contract and still a vital member of the team, Carl Jenkinson (21) who deputised for the former at the beginning of the season and performed superbly which made him get rewarded with  an England cap by Manager Roy Hodgson and the young Hector Bellerin (18) who is a special talent with flair.
Sagna, Jenkinson and Bellerin current Arsenal right-backs.
Sagna has not signed a new contract despite remaining with one year on his current deal and he is 30, we all know how Arsene behaves with 30-year-olds, he may not give him a two year contract and may leave either this or next summer or hand him a new contract like it is with Tomas Rosicky.
Jenkinson while playing at the start of last season showed us that he is ready but Sagna's seniority could not be undermined so he retained his place and now being a full international gives Carl an extra confidence that he can do it. Playing for Arsenal is his Passion without a doubt.
Bellerin is more talented of them all, he is a complete modern right-back who balances well defence and attack and more comfortable with the ball. When he goes in attack he can create a lot of problems for the opponents like you see Dani Alves and starting his career as a midfielder helps him but he is still young at 18 so not yet ready.
In my opinion we do not need to buy a right back, we should keep Sagna for atleast 2 years then he will pass on to Jenkinson who will be without a doubt ready, all factors remaining constant then Bellerin will deputise for Jenkinson and that position will be sorted.
Till then, like and follow, comments also welcome.

SANOGO DOES IT AGAIN!!!

SANOGO DOES IT AGAIN

Arsenal new boy Yaya Sanogo (20) continued his scoring exploits as he scored for the French U-20 side in the under 20 FIFA world cup being staged in Turkey. He now has 3 goals in 4 games and his team has progressed to the quarter finals after beating the host nation Turkey 4-1, another Arsenal target now playing for Seville Geoffrey Kadongbia also scored.

The French will go on to play Uzbekistan in the quarter finals who eliminated Greece 3-1.
Sanogo now has 3 goals and one assist, 2 behind Portugal's Bruma who has scored 5 in 3 matches in the race for the golden boot.

SANOGO IN THE BAG. WHO IS NEXT?

CLUB COMPLETES SIGNING OF YAYA SANOGO ON A FREE FROM AUXERRE.

Arsenal on monday the first day of the summer transfer window announced the signing of French U-20 international from Auxerre.
Sanogo (20), refused to renew his contract at Auxerre and shunned interest from former French Champions Lille in order to make his dream move to Arsenal and declared earlier in the summer that he will be joining Arsenal when the transfer window officially opens. Arsene Wenger also confessed that the deal was in advanced stage earlier before.

Target man: Sanogo has built an excellent reputation for himself in France
Sanogo Playing for France in the U-20 world cup in Turkey.

Sanogo nearly quit football at a tender age of 16 due to injuries but later a miracle (as he called it) happened and he got healed then put his career back on track.
He is currently playing for the French U-20 World Cup team in Turkey where he has managed to score 2 in 3 matches and helped his team progress to the knockout stage.
At Auxerre, (where we got Sagna and Diaby) he managed to score 11 goals in 24 appearance which mainly forced our scouting network in France led by former player Giles Grimandi to recommend him.

Here is what the manager said about him after his deal was confirmed on Arsenal.com:
“Sanogo is a good young signing for us.
“He has shown that he has potential with his recent performances for Auxerre and also for the France Under-20 side.
“We are looking forward to Yaya joining us and continuing his promising development.”

He is a good young signing who has shown potential so he for the future not now and obviously do not expect him to play a big role in ending our trophy drought and we should pray he doesn't get crocked due to his poor injury record to progress well with his development at the club.

The competition in today's football world makes it hard for young lads to break through with examples of: Giles Sunnu, Fran Merida, Luke Freeman, Aturo Lupoli, Jay Simpson and other due to lack of playing time to develop at big clubs like Arsenal because managers play their best teams as they yearn for silverware but lets hope he develops and become like Fabregas, Wilshere, Van Persie, Song, Walcott who managed to break through and be a vital member of the squad in 3 or 4 years.

Till then, like and follow, comments are also welcome.

MONDAY 1ST JULY 2013: TRANSFER WINDOW OFFICIALLY OPENED!

ARSENAL £19.7m BENDER BID DISMISSED BY BAYER LEVERKUSEN.

Dear Gooners, hope all of you are in a perfect condition bleeding Red & White as always.

I will start with some discouraging news that our 19.7m bid for German international midfielder Lars Bender (24) has been dismissed by his club Bayer Leverkusen and later skysports reported on of their club officials saying he has a contract until 2017 so he will not leave this summer at any price.

Hi-res-146484062_crop_north
Lars Bender playing for Germany.

We are faced with a very difficult summer, you may call it a 'do or die' summer if you like where we have to strengthen due to the intense and ever increasing competition in the Premier League. Majority agree that current champions Man United, Man City and Chelsea are better than us on paper, besides that Chelsea have already added players as well as Man City, Liverpool has also added some player who can not weaken but strengthen them plus Spurs who are not so far away from us and have been improving over the years to an extent of threatening our top 4 status.

Some gooners said when we failed to land players in the January window bar Monreal that all players who moved where not Arsenal quality, I remember arguing with one gooner from South Africa on twitter. I do not believe that at all because you make players move, even if they fancy playing for you, you have to show interest in them and they will do. We are not that attractive club that we used to be before 2007 as the departures of our stars have exhibited in recent years.
Vieira,Henry, Fabregas, Nasri, Van Persie left us not because they did not want to play for us but they went to achieve something and have achieved, isnt it?

The bottom line is that we shall not reclaim our status (Big club) on a cheap, you cannot get a certain Patrick Vieira nowadays at £4m even if he is 20 years old, you can take an example of Kadongbia of Seville go with £4m and see whether you will get him, never.
The socialist wages we pay are also a very big obstacle to us winning again, not that players are money-minded but that is where the game has gone oligarchs have come  in and now money is the game changer, look at City they celebrated of recent and now are bigger than us but just because of money.
I understand that is not the Arsenal way but we have to live the real world if we are to win again. Many want the ideal world but I ask you a question, Shall we win again with it?

Over the barren seasons (2006 to date) we have built a great financial base and signed awesome deals, this is the right time to tap into our reserves and buy quality players earlier, make them get full pre-season training and gel well with the rest of the lads then by the start of the season we are good to go.
In my opinion, we need: an experienced goalkeeper, defensive midfielder and a striker if we do not get any departures apart form the so-called dead wood. (Begovic, Capoue and Higuain preferably)

The more Arsene and the board spend on quality players to strengthen the squad the earlier we shall get back to the winning ways and viseverser.

You are free to comment and give you opinion.

Till then, do not forget to like and follow.

JULIO CESAR TO JOIN ARSENAL.

JULIO CESAR TO JOIN ARSENAL.

Arsenal are on the verge of signing experienced Brazilian stopper Cesar when the Confederations Cup ends on Sunday. Talks have already taken place between Cesar's representatives and Arsenal delegation but put on halt due to the keepers international engagement with Brazil.

According to the Daily Mail, it is believed that Cesar (33) can part ways wit the relegated QPR for a fee of £2m and £70,000 per week wages  which Arsenal can pretty afford. Other clubs are also interested like Roma but Cesar wants to stay in London.Despite QPR being relegated, Cesar was an out standing performer in their team.

Main man: Cesar impressed at Loftus Road despite the side's struggles in the Premier League
Cesar in action for relegated Premier league side QPR.

His quality is undoubted by many and would help Arsenal for a couple of years because goalkeepers can have a quite extended careers compared to their out field counterparts. He will be a great addition to our long term number 1 according to me and thats none other than Wojeich Szczesny who is still 22 so he wont be worried that he will stay for long and keep him on the bench.
Szczesny should also use the opportunity to learn from Cesar and improve because we all agree he is not yet a finished article though lack of games may make him rusty and lose his great potential so he should be coming in for the Veteran Cesar once in a while according to how the boss will want to manage him.

Wanted: Julio Cesar is set to join Arsenal following Queens Park Rangers' relegation to the Championship
Cesar congratulated by teammates after saving Diego Forlan's penalty kick in the on going Confederations Cup.

One problem I have with Cesar is that; he is not that commanding goalkeeper the way you see Petr Cech may be due to the fact that he is naturally small and a little shorter so sometimes you may not rely on him in corners and other set pieces where people crowd in the box but his shot stopping skills are there with the best so the bottom-line is that we need him in the next 3 to 4 years as Szczesny continues his development and later take over from Cesar according to how his talent will be after that time.

Till then,
Love you all. Like on FB and follow on Twitter for more Arsenal news.

ARSENAL SUMMER SO FAR.

STILL TWO MONTHS TO GO DO NOT WORRY GOONERS!!!

Dear Gooners, hope everyone is calm and watching events unfolding.

The season ended as it ended and we finished forth thanks to the late surge from the team after the Bayern Munich away win and a rare move by the boss to drop the captain and  bring in Kosceilny who was a great cog in us clinching the highly coveted 4th place both defensively and offensively as he proved it by scoring the last goal for us which took us there and then deny us conceding.

Laurent Koscielny
Kosceilny was massive last season

Finishing in top 4 means we shall be able to play in the Champions league and therefore we can attract top players because all top players playing in the ultimate club competition is their dream. so Arsene has no barrier in purchasing top players and with the 70m pounds talked about as the transfer war chest means we have high chances of getting the top class players we need.

We were linked with Stevan Jovetic from Fiorentina but now the rumour has died and no one knows what is happening apart from Arsenal and Fiorentina officials.
We have managed to offload some of the so-called dead wood like Andrey Arshavin who was reportedly getting 85k per week so that is a positive meaning we can pay that to a player more important to the squad, some have gone on loan but we are supposed to be paying a given percentage of their salaries so that is not a complete positive as we do not expect them to play for Arsenal again like Djourou. A couple of young players from the last season's U-21 team have been told to try their talents else where which is also a positive as the club shall not use them. That is the best we have done so far!

20130629-091854.jpg
Arshavin leads the exodus as he re-joins Zenit

We have been linked to a couple of other players the more prominent one being Gonzalo Higuain who will be very important to us but nothing conclusive has been achieved with contradicting reports that may be the appointment of Ancelotti at Madrid will sppeed up the transfer as the El Confidencial reported with others saying he may use him so we shall not get him which is 100% bad news.
Another on is Marouane Fellaini who reports say we are about to get but we are not willing to pay the 100k he wants to be paid.
Another one is QPR and Brazil keeper Julio Cesar who the Daily Mail says we are about to sign but be priced out on Ashley Williams  and Marouane Fellaini and other but those are the main ones and if we can secure them then we can compete for any trophy next season if they gel well with the current time.

Higuain: Contradicting reports on him joining Arsenal.

We do not need to worry gooners, we should trust Arsene and the board because they need us to be competitive and know the things are getting tighter and tighter with Liverpool and Spurs strengthening, for sure we shall sign players its just a matter of time, with our moneys accumulating and debts reducing we are in a better position like never before and hope they are quality players.
In my opinion we need a Goal keeper to compete with Szczesny, a Defensive midfielder and a striker to replace Song and Van Persie respectively then we shall be ready to go for whoever is in our way.

Till then Gooners, LOVE YOU ALL

FELLAINI DESERVES 100K PAY.

ARSENAL SHOULD PAY FELLAINI 100,000 PER WEEK.

Hello gooners as you all hear the news of Marouane Fellaini joining Arsenal, the fact is that we need him and there's no doubt about that, we lost Alex Song and he will be the perfect if not better replacement for the Cameroonian who joined Barcelona last summer, reports say that the club has met or is ready to meet the release clause but now they are stalling on the terms where the player is requesting for 100k per week, at Everton he is reportedly getting 75k per week and then goal.com reported that we made an offer of 70k per week and if such a player is joining a big club and then you give him a pay cut it looks ridiculous.

Fellaini Arsenal Shirt
Mocked up picture of Fellaini in the Arsenal shirt.

Arsenal is a big club which should be paying its stars way way better than the likes of Spurs and Everton or even Newcastle and you all know the changes in modern football. We have Arteta but you can all agree with me that Aterta is not a water carrier despite replacing Alex Song in that role though he played well but Fellaini is better suited for the role and he will be a very important member of the Arsenal squad in giving the team physicality and aerial advantage which Mikel Arteta does not give us.
Mikel is best suited for the advanced role and playing him there should not be the best option because he is a play maker.

Mikel Arteta, the man Arsenal used in the holding role last season

According to reports, the player is willing to join but the club is reluctant to pay for his needs which is disheartening because the club can afford.
If the remaining thing is paying Fellaini the 100k and then he puts pen to paper to play for us for 5 years who is still 25 then the club should go running to tie the guy up and not just be reluctant for other clubs who can spend better than us to come and take the guy, we are lucky that we qualified for the Champions league and can attract some good player but if we had not it would have been disaster.
So the board should use that chance and sign up players very quickly. they go for the Pre-season training and give them time to gel but nowadays if we are still thinking of getting good players on a cheap it is no-longer happening any more.
Thank god we are Arsenal and playing in the Champions league but if we don't organize well we may loose it and I believe Arsene and the board also know that.

Till then, like and follow.

TONY ADAMS DENIED A PLACE ON THE ARSENAL BOARD.

TONY ADAMS DENIED A PLACE ON THE ARSENAL BOARD.

Hi Gooners, hope everyone is well.

As reported in the sun on Sunday our most successful captain was denied a place on the board and was surprised that instead the club appointed Sir Chips Keswick as the chairman.
It seems the Arsenal board which consists of Ivan Garzidis, Lord Harris, Kenny Frair, Stan Kroenke and newly appointed chairman Sir chips Keswick do not want anyone on the board who is so demanding for the club to succeed no matter what the situation at the club is because I believe Tony Adams is that kind of person.

It is amazing that the club has very much tried to snub Tony Adams a man who is Arsenal all through, a man who has a statue outside of the stadium alongside other greats like Herbert Chapman and Thierry Henry plus the newly announced Dennis Bergkamp.
The club appointed Freddie Ljungberg as ambassador who is by no doubt a great man and well deserved to be but such a thing has never happened to Tony Adams aka Mr. Arsenal as often called despite his publicized desire to work with the club.
As he said, he does not want the money but to serve the club and make sure it goes back to its glory days of winning things which a great club like Arsenal is supposed to be doing.

Adams holds the Premiership trophy and FA Cup aloft during Arsenal's victory paradeTony Adams celebrates winning the league with David Seaman in 1998
Tony Adams signs off with a double in 2002. Him and Seaman with the PL trophy in 1998.

Some fans do not want him to be the chairman a strong member on the board perhaps because of some of their opinions which I respect but a man of his stature should be serving the club of his life by now at 46, he sat with former chairman Peter Hill-Wood and informed him of his desire to serve the club but seems Mr Hill-Wood just snubbed him and later said in an interview that they have failed to get a young man who is not money oriented to be on the board as a way of injecting in young blood yet Adams had told him before and was never money oriented.

Adams should be on the board by now as he requested, he would help the club in many ways because he knows everything about the club and its the club he loves to be among the best not just sit when the club is slipping to mediocrity and he is not a yes man who will just let everything said by the old guards  on the board pass. He is a football man and on top of that an Arsenal man.
We should start with him if we are to build a dynasty the former players at Bayern have built which everyone admires now.

Its elusive why the club has until now refused to allow him serve the club where he is a legend or they want him to be like Patrick Vieira who went on to serve Man City despite of the fact that he is the man who took over from Adams as Arsenal captain and led the team to the 2003-04 unbeaten Premier League triumph after Adams retirement.

ARSENAL RELEASE 14 PLAYERS.

ARSENAL RELEASE 14 PLAYERS IN THE SUMMER.

Dear Gooners all around the world, to be honest I missed you all but good enough I am back now to discuss what we all love most, Arsenal.

As you know we have been having a lot of the so-called dead-wood at the club spending money on them despite giving back to the club less than what they get out of it. The club announced on Wednesday that 3 members of the senoir squad will leave the club when their contracts expire on 30th June.
The 3 I am talking about are: Andrey Arshavin brought in from Zenit after lighting up the Euro 2008 with Russia, Sebastian Squillaci bought from Seville in 2010 as an experienced centre back who would walk in straight away and add quality to the side after making the French squad to the world cup 2010 but all back fired, the only memory I have of him is scoring a header as we went on to beat Stoke city sometime back of all the time he has spent at the club and the last on is 25-year-old Denilson who has spent 2 seasons away from the club but still partly catering for him.

Some of the reasons as to why we have such problem are:

>Such players are being paid quite good money at Arsenal and by the time we find out they are not as useful to the club no big club can buy them and small clubs cant afford their salaries despite their talents belonging there then they prefer to sit back at London Colney till their contracts are done.

>Some of them are panic buys who the manager just gambles with after predicting torrid times ahead for example: Park Ju Young (who has been away at the club) and Andre Santos (who Gremio failed to retain because Arsenal made him expensive and they cant afford him)

>Some just have a deep in form and cant recover due to other players who take up their positions seizing the chance and don't look back but continue to give splendid displays which makes it difficult for them to retain their places because the boss always picks the best performer.
For example; Arshavin his talent is arguably one of the best at the club but he is set to leave for free mainly because he lost his form and could not get it back, the manager always defended him that he is a hard worker but you could see it by yourself and his body language that he was putting in less effort. However, no Gunners faithful will ever forget his 4 splendid strikes at Anfield in 2009.

We should avoid panic buys at the club and cheap buys just for the sake of it, yes every club take gambles but ask your self a question, if Man United can sell O'shea why cant we sell Arshavin or Squillaci who is a French international? Something is just not right.
Remember we still have: Djourou, Chamakh, Park, Santos....

Another lot to leave the club are the 11 (Eleven) youngsters from the under-21s and Reserve side. This is disheartening but it has happened, leading the lot are: Conor Henderson (who alot of youngsters used to say he is the best among them), Jernade Meade (the diminutive left back who made first appearances last season) and Sanchez Watt.
You ask yourself a question; what are the other youngsters at the club thinking? Because it does not matter whether you are a Hale End graduate but its your talent and perhaps hard work to save you from the drop. In football nowadays it is very difficult for young players to break through the first team in a demanding club like Arsenal and others, simply because the club needs to win and the manager can hardly give chance to lads unless you are a special talent like Wilshere, lucky or the manager has seen something in you that he likes, even if the club is compelled to the youth policy like Arsenal it may be derailed a bit.
For example; we used to play young players in the Carling cup now Capital one cup but that luxury is no longer applied now we bring the best team because we want to win any trophy to be there with the best, you can recall the team which lost to Bradford city last season and our teams we used to play in the Carling cup 4 to 5 years ago then you will know what I mean.

All in all I feel for the lads but the club had no option but to release them if they thought they were not going to use them. Now we are going to have a new look U-21 and reserves side and hope we get some lads with Arsenal DNA like Wilshere who can break through the senior team.
Wish all the departed luck in their careers and thank them for giving their best to the club.

Till then. FROM UGANDA WITH AFC LOVE. Follow us on twitter @Ugooners13.

THIERRY HENRY RIGHT TO DEMAND MORE FROM OUR PLAYERS

THIERRY HENRY RIGHT TO DEMAND MORE FROM OUR PLAYERS

Arsenal legend and all time top scorer arguably the best player ever for Arsenal said he wants more form Arsenal, he was talking to Skysports and here are the quotes;

""Putting Tottenham out of the top four, and I really do hope that's what they were celebrating about, that's the only thing you can celebrate," said the 35-year-old striker in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports.
"If you're an Arsenal man through and through that's like winning something.
"I said it when we did to them in 2006. It wasn't the fact that we qualified for the Champions League, it was because we kicked them out of it and we went in.
"Yes, they finished in the top four but there is only one champion - Man United. I'm a competitor so that's the only thing I will remember from the season - Man United won the league. You're going to have to do better than what United did this year.
"Chelsea I'm sure are thinking about the same thing right now, or Man City. Tottenham are going to think, 'how can we come back into the top four?' All the teams are going to be thinking, 'how can we win this title?"
For a man like him its really true to say what he said because he is a winner and could hardly settle for second best, Henry left Arsenal for Barcelona in 2006 for the same thing though he loved Arsenal and its the club of his life as most of us saw in his second comeback at the Emirates. Him and some of his invincible teammates did not like the way our player celebrated the last day win against Newcastle which made us qualify for the Champions League at the expense of Spurs but could not criticize openly because it would damage their image to the club's hierarchy and the man who made most of them great and thats non other than Arsene Wenger though some fans like Piers Morgan lashed out without fear or favor.
Henry by-passes the UCL trophy in great agony after we lost to Barcelona in 2006.
As he said, if you are an Arsenal man through and through like me and you there is no way you can not celebrate Spurs agony irrespective of who has inflicted it on them and if its the very Arsenal then its a little bit special so our players had the right to celebrate with our fans after we relegated Spurs in the Europa league next season, their qualifying to the Champions league was also going to make them stronger and nearly become competitive like us which is also worthy celebrating though some gooners may not have got it in their minds that very day but according to me in reality it was the most important thing to celebrate because it would greatly affect us in the long run.
They would get more money and be able to recruit talented players who would make life so difficult for us in the city and in the league

FABREGAS COMING BACK TO ARSENAL OR JOINING MANCHESTER UNITED.

FABREGAS COMING BACK TO ARSENAL OR JOINING MANCHESTER UNITED.

There are rumours around that our former captain may be back to England with either Manchester united or Arsenal and according to reports the Manchester united one is more vibrant than that of Arsenal .
David Moyes the incoming manager of Manchester united wants to strengthen his squad and without a doubt Fabregas will be a perfect fit for them. They have the money and with every new manger coming in the team as big as Manchester United a new manager must spend to strengthen his squad.

Some reports say that Fabregas himself said he can not play for any other club in England apart from Arsenal and that's good news for us without a doubt, most of the Arsenal fans would welcome back Fabregas to the club and do not have any bad feelings about him compared to the likes of Van Persie and Nasri mainly.
Nasri and Van Persie joined our rivals meaning that they would come back to haunt us unlike Fabregas who wanted to go back home and be a winner with his home club Barcelona and kept on following the club he loves and never makes any bad comment about it.
He was asked about the Alex Song transfer to Barca last summer and he said that's a matter of the club, I cant make any comment about a club which made me who I am and a club I love.
The signing of Neymar may negatively affect Fabregas despite playing different positions, Neymar cant sit on the bench meaning so many will be affected including Fabregas who has already not been used often.

08/09 Chelsea 1-2 Arsenal - Robin van Persie
                  Fabregas during his Arsenal days

Fabregas joining Man united will of course annoy the Arsenal fans and will make Man united stronger as a team because hes a quality player way better than Michael Carrick who was voted players' best player at Man united, with his vision and top class passing no doubt he will make them stronger and his connection with Van Persie will be very dangerous if it is to happen.
At Barca he has struggled because their midfield is pretty difficult to break through with the likes of Busquest, Iniesta and Xavi who is not aging despite being in his 30s who you think Fabregas would replace but a quality player like him its very hard to sit on the bench because he can play anywhere else and at 26 he is in the prime of his career.

Fabregas unveiled at the Camp Nou after leaving Arsenal two seasons ago.

Fabregas joining Arsenal would be a plus too, a former captain and a quality player. He will play behind the striker as he used to and with his vision and passing he will split defenses like he used to do before he left for Barca two seasons ago.
With him, Wilshere, Carzola, Rosicky, we would arguably have the best attacking central midfield in England able to win any trophy but all is down to Arsene to make it happen if he wants him at the club again which I think he does and in today's professional footballing world a player can play anywhere so don't be stunned to see him at Old Traford.

We welcome you back home Cesc.

ROONEY TO ARSENAL

IMPORTANCE OF ROONEY AT ARSENAL.

The season is done and now everyone is writing about transfer rumours most of which are not even right but thats what most of us need and so the media has to feed us with their made-up stories so that we can pay attention to them.
At Ugandan Gooners we shall continue to give them to you with their sources so that you know who said what and judge for your self.

Today we are writing about Wayne Rooney rumour to Arsenal, it might not be right but its there in the news and alot of gooners are paying attention to it. Some gooners say they dont want a Man United reject at Arsenal while others are welcoming him to the club so long as the boss is willing to pay what is required to bring him.
Those who say they dont want him at Arsenal perhaps have some bad memories about him since his break through in the Premier League with that screamer against David Seaman in the Arsenal goal or some other reasons but I dont think they are footballing reasons.

http://l.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/3RhBIaZwIUmHKgU9XBYwkA--/YXBwaWQ9eW5ld3M7Y2g9MzYwO2NyPTE7Y3c9NjQwO2R4PTA7ZHk9MDtmaT11bGNyb3A7aD0zNTU7cT04NTt3PTYzMA--/http://media.zenfs.com/en_GB/Sports/Eurosport/1007393-16328830-640-360.jpg

Theo Walcott said, Arsenal need to realize how good they are to win a trophy meaning we lack belief to win trophies which is right in one way or another just as we were eliminated by Bradford and Blackburn in the cups who are not anywhere near our quality, we went on to beat the current European Champions Bayern Munich at their own backyard but finished the season empty handed.
Wayne Rooney as a player he is also a warrior who wants his side to win at all cost, he will bring that belief to us and we shall improve without a doubt if that is what we lack. Not forgetting his quality as a player which is top class.

Wayne Rooney is a bully and that can be important to us in one way or another both to our young and elder players who dont take extra care about the success of a team, it would also help us to regain the fear factor which can sometimes help you win games just like Man United has been doing against weaker teams with the like of Sir Alex, Rooney, Ferdinand, Giggs and others. Smaller teams come knowing this is a fortress so lets just go and try our best, such a team is easier to beat than a team which comes to you confident of taking something away from you according to the loopholes in your record.

It can also help us in the conversation with refs which can perhaps alter their decisions.

Rooney also has so many sponsors he is doing adverts for so that can also help the club to improve as a global brand which can trickle down to success on the pitch.

It will also increase our British composition at the club which is important to the club and British football all together.

For footballing reasons, we need Wayne Rooney at Arsenal no matter what some gooners think.

 Bahati for THE UGANDAN GOONERS.

THOUGHTS ON THOMAS VERMAELEN

REPORTS SUGGEST CAPTAIN THOMAS VERMAELEN IS ON THE MOVE IN SUMMER.

A lot has been said about Thomas Vermaelen living Arsenal in the summer as he searches for first team football due to the fact that he lost his place to Luarent Koscielny who has been formidable since taking over from the captain.
To be honest with you I do not know what befell Vermaelen since he took over the captains armband from Van Persie when the latter left for Man united, Vermaelen used to be our best defender and he signed a new contract when we were really in the bad times, the outstanding players were in an exodus looking for silverware away from the club so with such loyalty to the club the manager made him the assistant captain and later when the captain left he took over but since taking over the man lost shape, he became error prone, shaky, no forward runs he used to do and the strong left-foot shot which he used to score trademark strikes for us was no where to be seen.

Some gooners suggested that may be the responsibility made him lose what he was before but that may not be an issue to such a mature player who has even captained his nation until Vincent Kompany came in, unlike Ramsey at wales, Vermaelen was made captain at a mature age and was the vice so he used to put it on once in a while when the captain was out.

Out-of-favour: Thomas Vermaelen may have to leave Arsenal in order to find first-team football
Vermaelen may leave Arsenal in search for first team football.

When Koscielny took over form him he never looked back and has been so influential in out quest for the highly coveted top four putting an icing on the cake by scoring the ninja-like strike at Newcastle to ensure that we get the best out off a dead season.

As reports suggest that Arsene Wenger is considering a move for Ashley Williams the Swansea captain then that means if Vermaelen doesn't fight hard he may lose the captaincy and become a fourth choice at center back which might be embarrassing to him.
With the world cup looming he may try to consider moving on to play his football else where with Man United and Barcelona being named as his potential destinations, that shows you that he still has the quality if such big clubs are interested in him but at Arsenal things don't seem to be good for him due to the outstanding performance of Per Martesacker and Laurent Koscielny which no manager can just dismantle their partnership to bring in another player but it has to be because of merit.

Incoming? Arsene Wenger is interested in bringing Swansea defender Ashley Williams to the Emirates
REPORTS: Arsene is interested in Williams who may send Vermaelen to 4th choice at Arsenal.

As Arsene Wenger urged him to stay and fight for his place I borrow his idea, Vermaelen should stay work hard put himself together and gets back to where he belongs not to just run away. We may need him any time and a player of his quality should not just be left to go by the club but keep him and maintain the depth in the squad as we all know anything can happen during the long season but its also very hard to keep a player of his stature with alot of experience and skills without playing football so the final decision is with himself and his advisors.

Till then, like on Facebook and follow on twitter, comments are welcome.
