THIERRY HENRY RIGHT TO DEMAND MORE FROM OUR PLAYERS

THIERRY HENRY RIGHT TO DEMAND MORE FROM OUR PLAYERS

Arsenal legend and all time top scorer arguably the best player ever for Arsenal said he wants more form Arsenal, he was talking to Skysports and here are the quotes;

""Putting Tottenham out of the top four, and I really do hope that's what they were celebrating about, that's the only thing you can celebrate," said the 35-year-old striker in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports.
"If you're an Arsenal man through and through that's like winning something.
"I said it when we did to them in 2006. It wasn't the fact that we qualified for the Champions League, it was because we kicked them out of it and we went in.
"Yes, they finished in the top four but there is only one champion - Man United. I'm a competitor so that's the only thing I will remember from the season - Man United won the league. You're going to have to do better than what United did this year.
"Chelsea I'm sure are thinking about the same thing right now, or Man City. Tottenham are going to think, 'how can we come back into the top four?' All the teams are going to be thinking, 'how can we win this title?"
For a man like him its really true to say what he said because he is a winner and could hardly settle for second best, Henry left Arsenal for Barcelona in 2006 for the same thing though he loved Arsenal and its the club of his life as most of us saw in his second comeback at the Emirates. Him and some of his invincible teammates did not like the way our player celebrated the last day win against Newcastle which made us qualify for the Champions League at the expense of Spurs but could not criticize openly because it would damage their image to the club's hierarchy and the man who made most of them great and thats non other than Arsene Wenger though some fans like Piers Morgan lashed out without fear or favor.
Henry by-passes the UCL trophy in great agony after we lost to Barcelona in 2006.
As he said, if you are an Arsenal man through and through like me and you there is no way you can not celebrate Spurs agony irrespective of who has inflicted it on them and if its the very Arsenal then its a little bit special so our players had the right to celebrate with our fans after we relegated Spurs in the Europa league next season, their qualifying to the Champions league was also going to make them stronger and nearly become competitive like us which is also worthy celebrating though some gooners may not have got it in their minds that very day but according to me in reality it was the most important thing to celebrate because it would greatly affect us in the long run.
They would get more money and be able to recruit talented players who would make life so difficult for us in the city and in the league

FABREGAS COMING BACK TO ARSENAL OR JOINING MANCHESTER UNITED.

FABREGAS COMING BACK TO ARSENAL OR JOINING MANCHESTER UNITED.

There are rumours around that our former captain may be back to England with either Manchester united or Arsenal and according to reports the Manchester united one is more vibrant than that of Arsenal .
David Moyes the incoming manager of Manchester united wants to strengthen his squad and without a doubt Fabregas will be a perfect fit for them. They have the money and with every new manger coming in the team as big as Manchester United a new manager must spend to strengthen his squad.

Some reports say that Fabregas himself said he can not play for any other club in England apart from Arsenal and that's good news for us without a doubt, most of the Arsenal fans would welcome back Fabregas to the club and do not have any bad feelings about him compared to the likes of Van Persie and Nasri mainly.
Nasri and Van Persie joined our rivals meaning that they would come back to haunt us unlike Fabregas who wanted to go back home and be a winner with his home club Barcelona and kept on following the club he loves and never makes any bad comment about it.
He was asked about the Alex Song transfer to Barca last summer and he said that's a matter of the club, I cant make any comment about a club which made me who I am and a club I love.
The signing of Neymar may negatively affect Fabregas despite playing different positions, Neymar cant sit on the bench meaning so many will be affected including Fabregas who has already not been used often.

08/09 Chelsea 1-2 Arsenal - Robin van Persie
                  Fabregas during his Arsenal days

Fabregas joining Man united will of course annoy the Arsenal fans and will make Man united stronger as a team because hes a quality player way better than Michael Carrick who was voted players' best player at Man united, with his vision and top class passing no doubt he will make them stronger and his connection with Van Persie will be very dangerous if it is to happen.
At Barca he has struggled because their midfield is pretty difficult to break through with the likes of Busquest, Iniesta and Xavi who is not aging despite being in his 30s who you think Fabregas would replace but a quality player like him its very hard to sit on the bench because he can play anywhere else and at 26 he is in the prime of his career.

Fabregas unveiled at the Camp Nou after leaving Arsenal two seasons ago.

Fabregas joining Arsenal would be a plus too, a former captain and a quality player. He will play behind the striker as he used to and with his vision and passing he will split defenses like he used to do before he left for Barca two seasons ago.
With him, Wilshere, Carzola, Rosicky, we would arguably have the best attacking central midfield in England able to win any trophy but all is down to Arsene to make it happen if he wants him at the club again which I think he does and in today's professional footballing world a player can play anywhere so don't be stunned to see him at Old Traford.

We welcome you back home Cesc.

ROONEY TO ARSENAL

IMPORTANCE OF ROONEY AT ARSENAL.

The season is done and now everyone is writing about transfer rumours most of which are not even right but thats what most of us need and so the media has to feed us with their made-up stories so that we can pay attention to them.
At Ugandan Gooners we shall continue to give them to you with their sources so that you know who said what and judge for your self.

Today we are writing about Wayne Rooney rumour to Arsenal, it might not be right but its there in the news and alot of gooners are paying attention to it. Some gooners say they dont want a Man United reject at Arsenal while others are welcoming him to the club so long as the boss is willing to pay what is required to bring him.
Those who say they dont want him at Arsenal perhaps have some bad memories about him since his break through in the Premier League with that screamer against David Seaman in the Arsenal goal or some other reasons but I dont think they are footballing reasons.

http://l.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/3RhBIaZwIUmHKgU9XBYwkA--/YXBwaWQ9eW5ld3M7Y2g9MzYwO2NyPTE7Y3c9NjQwO2R4PTA7ZHk9MDtmaT11bGNyb3A7aD0zNTU7cT04NTt3PTYzMA--/http://media.zenfs.com/en_GB/Sports/Eurosport/1007393-16328830-640-360.jpg

Theo Walcott said, Arsenal need to realize how good they are to win a trophy meaning we lack belief to win trophies which is right in one way or another just as we were eliminated by Bradford and Blackburn in the cups who are not anywhere near our quality, we went on to beat the current European Champions Bayern Munich at their own backyard but finished the season empty handed.
Wayne Rooney as a player he is also a warrior who wants his side to win at all cost, he will bring that belief to us and we shall improve without a doubt if that is what we lack. Not forgetting his quality as a player which is top class.

Wayne Rooney is a bully and that can be important to us in one way or another both to our young and elder players who dont take extra care about the success of a team, it would also help us to regain the fear factor which can sometimes help you win games just like Man United has been doing against weaker teams with the like of Sir Alex, Rooney, Ferdinand, Giggs and others. Smaller teams come knowing this is a fortress so lets just go and try our best, such a team is easier to beat than a team which comes to you confident of taking something away from you according to the loopholes in your record.

It can also help us in the conversation with refs which can perhaps alter their decisions.

Rooney also has so many sponsors he is doing adverts for so that can also help the club to improve as a global brand which can trickle down to success on the pitch.

It will also increase our British composition at the club which is important to the club and British football all together.

For footballing reasons, we need Wayne Rooney at Arsenal no matter what some gooners think.

 Bahati for THE UGANDAN GOONERS.

THOUGHTS ON THOMAS VERMAELEN

REPORTS SUGGEST CAPTAIN THOMAS VERMAELEN IS ON THE MOVE IN SUMMER.

A lot has been said about Thomas Vermaelen living Arsenal in the summer as he searches for first team football due to the fact that he lost his place to Luarent Koscielny who has been formidable since taking over from the captain.
To be honest with you I do not know what befell Vermaelen since he took over the captains armband from Van Persie when the latter left for Man united, Vermaelen used to be our best defender and he signed a new contract when we were really in the bad times, the outstanding players were in an exodus looking for silverware away from the club so with such loyalty to the club the manager made him the assistant captain and later when the captain left he took over but since taking over the man lost shape, he became error prone, shaky, no forward runs he used to do and the strong left-foot shot which he used to score trademark strikes for us was no where to be seen.

Some gooners suggested that may be the responsibility made him lose what he was before but that may not be an issue to such a mature player who has even captained his nation until Vincent Kompany came in, unlike Ramsey at wales, Vermaelen was made captain at a mature age and was the vice so he used to put it on once in a while when the captain was out.

Out-of-favour: Thomas Vermaelen may have to leave Arsenal in order to find first-team football
Vermaelen may leave Arsenal in search for first team football.

When Koscielny took over form him he never looked back and has been so influential in out quest for the highly coveted top four putting an icing on the cake by scoring the ninja-like strike at Newcastle to ensure that we get the best out off a dead season.

As reports suggest that Arsene Wenger is considering a move for Ashley Williams the Swansea captain then that means if Vermaelen doesn't fight hard he may lose the captaincy and become a fourth choice at center back which might be embarrassing to him.
With the world cup looming he may try to consider moving on to play his football else where with Man United and Barcelona being named as his potential destinations, that shows you that he still has the quality if such big clubs are interested in him but at Arsenal things don't seem to be good for him due to the outstanding performance of Per Martesacker and Laurent Koscielny which no manager can just dismantle their partnership to bring in another player but it has to be because of merit.

Incoming? Arsene Wenger is interested in bringing Swansea defender Ashley Williams to the Emirates
REPORTS: Arsene is interested in Williams who may send Vermaelen to 4th choice at Arsenal.

As Arsene Wenger urged him to stay and fight for his place I borrow his idea, Vermaelen should stay work hard put himself together and gets back to where he belongs not to just run away. We may need him any time and a player of his quality should not just be left to go by the club but keep him and maintain the depth in the squad as we all know anything can happen during the long season but its also very hard to keep a player of his stature with alot of experience and skills without playing football so the final decision is with himself and his advisors.

Till then, like on Facebook and follow on twitter, comments are welcome.

CELEBRATING TOP FOUR.

IS IT RIGHT TO CELEBRATE TOP FOUR?

Hello Gooners,

As you all know our players, coaching staff and all gooners around the world celebrated Arsenal finishing top four meaning we shall be able to play champions league football next season which without it, it is a disaster both to the strength of the team financially and competitive wise as Liverpool has become for example.

Alot of people criticized it arguing that Arsenal a top club should be celebrating trophies not just top four which is 110% right. Among the critics included famous Arsenal fan and CNN presenter Piers Morgan,  Alan Curbishley and others.

Back in the day: Arsenal last won the Premier League in 2004 and haven't lifted a trophy since the 2005 FA Cup
Arsenal celebrating after winning the Premier League unbeaten in 2004. Below, celebrating their last trophy The FA Cup in 2005.
Back in the day: Arsenal last won the Premier League in 2004 and haven't lifted a trophy since the 2005 FA Cup

Personally I did not criticize it and I really did not celebrate as such but I felt a bit of relief that we shall be in the champions league not going where the likes of Liverpool,  Aston Villa who won the champions league or European cup as it was known before have gone you can also mention Nottingham forest if you like.

Some argued that they celebrated finishing top of Spurs which is not a surprise because it has been like that for 18 years consecutively but this time it was so tense just like it was when they were beaten by West Ham to help Arsenal qualify for the champions league some time back.

Arsenal as a great club used not to be in such situation but the coming in of the oligarchs and our frugality in paying the stadium debt has dragged us to this point of celebrating of top four. Any one is free to criticize but as a fan who loves his or her club has the right to celebrate in any way if he or she is happy with what the club has achieved, football is an emotional game in the way that even if your club finishes 100 years without a trophy you will still be a fan unlike players who make transfers to other clubs to win trophies, fans can not do that so you remain a gooner forever and ever.

Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski celebrate the Arsenal victory Arsenal players celebrate
Any excuse for a party: Arsenal celebrate clinching fourth spot on the final day of the season
Arsenal player celebrate finishing fourth in the Premier League 2012/2013.

The celebrations just came involuntarily, no one was forced to celebrated so whoever celebrated had the right to do so because the club had achieved what was the ultimate goal for the season after all others where out of their reach. Yes we have become weaker and stooped that low but we needed to play in the champions league and achieved it then why not celebrate?

ARSENE WILL GO LIKE SIR ALEX.

ARSENE WILL GO LIKE SIR ALEX.

The retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson has prompted me to write about the way Arsene will leave arsenal.

A sizable number of Arsenal faithfuls have lost faith in our longest serving and most successful manager of all time not because of anything but because of the 8 year trophy drought which might be brought to an end next season if Arsene and whoever is in charge of the club's finances is willing to spend.
However some gooners believe there is no any other redeemer than the man Arsene himself.

What Arsene has done for the club is exceptional there is no doubt about that but the ultimate joy for the club supporter is to see his beloved club lift a trophy because non of us the gooners get even a penny from the club finances but pay to watch games at the Emirates and on TV  which is later channeled to the club and as fans we expect to get the joy we deserve by lifting trophies. so may be those who are fed up because of lack of silver ware may be have a point also as those who still trust Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger
Divides opinion: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger

Arsene is still with us till further notice.
No one at the club has the audacity to dismiss Arsene as some fans may demand because of various reasons and according to me here are some of them.

  • Arsene Wenger has developed Arsenal as an institution to an extent that even the owner or majority share holder Stan Kroenke cant be in position to fire a man with such great intelligence which has led to the growth of the club, for example, he brought Nicholas Anelka from PSG at 500,000 Pounds and sold him at 22m Pounds to Madrid  he used the money to build a training ground, buy Petit, Henry and Wiltord who later went on to be vital members to the title winning Arsenal.
  • Arsene Wenger has managed to keep Arsenal at the top of the European game despite the frugality of the club in transfers due to financing the stadium debt which he championed himself, he has been able to get raw talent and polish it to become world class and then sell them for a profit as you the list is too long and such money has been used to pay the debt as well as get some slightly lesser replacement to keep on playing champions league football
  • Ivan Garzdis as the CEO does not want to have on his CV that when he was at Arsenal he fired a manager who has been at the club for 17 years and has seen the club develop to what it is now or even Stan the majority shareholder and decision maker if you like. That sums it all.

Gooners showing love to Arsene at the Emirates

If the CEO can not fire the manager then that shows you that the manager is untouchable and they were even going to stand by him had we missed out on champions league football. in actual sense Wenger is more powerful than Garzidis and can hardly do a thing without consulting him if at all he can.

As Arsenal fans we aren't happy but should be united a support our manger, we are too anxious for silverware but what he has done for the club he doesn't deserve a sack, he will just say that now its time and resigns because I believe he loves Arsenal and will know that now its time to let go.

JACK WILSHERE TO BAYERN, MAN UNITED ……..ETC

JACK WILSHERE TO BAYERN, MAN UNITED ……..ETC

There are reports circulating that Pep Guardiola is considering a move for our highly rated midfielder and future captain of-course and others suggesting that Man United are considering a move for the young midfielder.

We have been tormented by Guardiola not only once while at Barcelona the climax being the departure of our captain and best player by then Cesc Fabregas. Again the same man is claiming to be interested in Jack this time around with Bayern where he signed a 3 year deal starting next season 13/14.

About Manchester United, reports claim that they need a new engine for their team due to the retirement of their legends Scholes and Giggs who may be in his last season at 39 and they are ready to spend if need be so we can see Jack joining Van Persie.

Some argue that Jack is being played out of position so he may consider a move away from the Arsenal.

In this professional footballing world any thing can happen I didn't expect to see Van Persie play for Man United or Ashley Cole for Chelsea but all happened.
Van Persie went on to score two against us home and away which nearly cost us control of our destiny to the top 4 position.

The Ashley Cole situation is similar to the one of Jack , a player brought through the Arsenal ranks just like Jack but went on to leave and later attacked us in his autobiography.
In football now 99.9% of the players can move irrespective of how they are attached to their current clubs as long as they aren’t happy.

Its upon Arsene and whoever is concerned at the club to make our prized asset happy and satisfied at the club he calls home. No one knows how to keep him happy than Arsene who has managed him since he was 10 or less upto now and talks with him on a regular basis.

All of us want to see jack lead and win like Giggs, Neville, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol and others which is an obligation of the Arsenal management.

Jack cant betray us, can he? No!!!

ARSENAL VS WIGAN PREVIEW

Barclays Premier League
Round 37
Ref: Mike Dean
Venue: Emirates Stadium, London
Kick off: 19:45 GMT
First leg result: Wigan 0:1 Arsenal

I have always sympathized with Wigan being relegated mainly in the Roberto Martinez era because of the kind of football they play and regarding Martinez as a young manager with a bright managerial career which doesn't deserve to be tainted by relegation though I blame him for not being able to pull away from relegation battles for 3 successive seasons.
We managed to grab a 1:0 victory at the DW stadium, thanks to a Mikel Arteta 60 minute penalty after Jean Beausejour was penalized for a challenge on Theo Walcott, though it was not easy but that’s all part of the game.

Mikel Arteta
Arteta celebrates after scoring the winning penalty in the first leg at the DW.

At this point in time, it’s a must win for both teams as we fight to finish in the top 4 to play champions football plus the financial gain if you like next season, that means all the sympathy I or we have for Martinez and his team must be put on hold till the end of the 90 minutes. Matters were made worse by wins for Chelsea and Tottenham away at Aston villa and Stoke city respectively which wasn't easy for both of them but they managed to do it. That means the onus is on us right now and there is no margin for era this time around. Wigan lost to Swansea at home in midweek meaning they must win at our barkyard to make their hopes of playing Premier league football next season alive.

They may come in full throttle after their FA cup triumph at the weekend against poor Man city and with a lot of belief after coming at the emirates stadium last season in the same situation and managed to get that highly coveted win which boosted their top flight stay by then but I can only remind them that that you can escape today, tomorrow, the other day but not forever.

Wigan has experience in relegation battles as they managed to beat nearly everyone who surfaced last season including the current champions in order to stay up though this time around the defeat to Swansea at home hurt them so severely but we also have experience in fighting for top 4.

Arsenal need this win come what may. We are now in the 5th position trailing Chelsea by 5 and Spurs by 2 points meaning only a win will help us regain our top 4 status , a draw means we shall be short by one point and only waiting to see how our rival Tottenham fair in the last game as Chelsea seems to be already there due to a superior goal difference and 3 points ahead of spurs wit only one game left for both of them.

Arsene Wenger and Roberto Martinez share a moment after the last meeting.

The should be kept as it has been playing the previous games only Gibbs should come in for Monreal who was tormented by Andros Townsend versus QPR, I think he needs a rest.
Walcott should stay on the right and Poldi in the middle, Rosicky deserve a place due to the fluidity he adds to the team.
Our captain Vermaelen still has to wait as he works harder to get back in the team.
Jack Wilshere needs a rest and wish he comes back next season super fit to lead the team with the captains armband like Tony Adams did at 21.
Giroud is still out due to suspension and will only be available in the next game versus Newcastle at the St James’ park.

Probable line up (4-2-3-1)
                    Szczesny
Sagna-Koscielny-Mertesacker-Gibbs
            Ramsey-Arteta
     Walcott-Carzola-Rosicky
                   Podolski

There is not a major injury scare for both teams so I expect them to come in full strengthen.
Wigan after their FA cup game may come a little bit knackered but that should not be an advantage to us as anything can happen as it happened to Man city.

Prediction: a 3:1 win for the Arsenal.

Fiorentina veteran Luca Toni says Stevan Jovetic is not loved.

                                                       Jovetic playing for Fiorentina.

The Montenegrin front-man is wanted by Arsenal, Manchester City and Juventus - but he has insisted he is looking at finishing the season with Fiorentina before deciding his future.
But Jovetic has struggled for form in recent weeks and has not scored since the end of March - which has led to some criticism on the terraces.
And Toni feels this will have an adverse effect on Jovetic.
"Stevan feels the Fiorentina fans treat him without love," Toni told a press conference.
"Everybody says that the player's struggles will end when he starts scoring again.
"The way I see it in this difficult period is that Jovetic is only supported when he is making a difference on the field. At the moment, there is no enthusiasm towards him - he does not feel loved."

Arsene Wenger hails 'exceptional' career of Sir Alex Ferguson

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has paid tribute to his old http://arsenalnews.net/http://arsenalnews.net/rival Sir Alex Ferguson, who will retire at the end of the season after 26 years in charge of Manchester United.

Ferguson and Wenger have had plenty of duels over the years, particularly when the two clubs were vying for the Premier League title in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Wenger - who arrived at Arsenal in 1996 - will become the longest-serving manager in the country when Ferguson retires.
And he said Ferguson's achievements in the game are "exceptional."
He told Arsenal's website: "I would just like to pay tribute to an unbelievable achievement and a fantastic career.
"Basically the achievement is immaculate, when you look at the whole structure and consistency of the achievement. It is, of course, something exceptional.
"It is difficult to imagine English football without him, but it's now a reality and a fact.
"Of course the next manager has to fill in and show he has the dimension to do that. It is a big task for the guy who comes in."
David Moyes has been confirmed as the man charged with taking over and Wenger says following Ferguson is a tough task.
He said: "What you can say still is that Manchester United are commercially and financially one of the strongest two or three clubs in the world, and that is still a good basis to start when you come in because you know the players are there, the team is there, and the potential is there.
"They have developed very well and they are in a very, very strong position to deal with the problem they face.
"But of course it's a great void to fill for Manchester United, because the charisma and personality disappears suddenly in a club which has been dominated by it for such a long time.
"It's not an easy task to replace a person like that."
