SQUAD STILL THIN

ARSENAL 3-1 MAN CITY: WE STILL NEED 3 QUALITY ADDITIONS

Arsenal finished their pre season in perfect style with a 3-1 win over former Premier League champs Man City in Helsinki, Finland. Goals from Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud were enough to ensure this morale boosting victory. City managed to pull back one in the 80th minute through new signing Alvaro Negredo but Arsenal had already done enough to take the win.

Man City are one of the best teams in the League and beating them shows that our squad has potential but we need to add players in three areas to be on the safer said, that is: a defender, defensive midfielder and a striker, we have not spent a penny in the window despite selling some players and releasing others on a free.

Arsene named 20-year-old Colombian trialist Sebastian Perez who plays for his home country club Atletico Nacional in Saturday's friendly against City and gave him some 20 minutes a sign showing that he impressed in training and may sign a permanent deal, he slotted in well in defensive midfield after replacing Arteta and he was confident with possession though he got a yellow card for a late challenge.
Youngster Isaac Heyden defender/ defensive midfielder a Hale-End graduate also came on for the last 2 minutes in his first outing with the senior team and he would be happy the manager thought about him.

Reports that Luis Gustavo may join us are circulating and the metro reported that his agent said a £14m bid has been accepted only terms remaining to be discussed but many other genuine sources have said it not true and metro quotes are completely wrong.
The boss said in the Daily Mail that our squad is thin and we need a striker, a far as Gustavo is concerned nothing is close but he did not deny his interest.
The Mirror also reported that Arsenal believe an 14m pound deal will get them Gustavo but all still speculation.

I would prefer Gundogan but Gustavo is more likely to join than Gundogan so I would welcome him.

Gustavo helped Brazil win the confederations cup.

As far as a striker is concerned, we cant rely on Giroud for the entire season in 3 or 4 competitions with more than 50 games we need another quality one, Suarez would be the best but so far Liverpool have kept their no sale stance whether they will change or no, Arsene is waiting in the wings and his determination to get Suarez shows you we need another striker. Lewandowski would be a good buy but trust me getting him isn't that easy.

In defense we need one more defender to cover up for Per or Kos, Vermaelen is out injured we don't know whether he will come back better than he left because he wasn't the Vermaelen we all know, an injury to Koscielny may affect us dearly so we need a hard center back to do the job, Sagna can cover up there but we all know his main duty and due to the fact that Jenkinson is still not at a level where you can rely upon him all season we need Sagna at right back and Jenkinson to assist him.
At left back, Gibbs and Monreal will do the job.

In goal, i trust Szczesny as our long time number 1, all he need is games to improve his confidence and he will be good to go, Fabianski can stay to back up his compatriot as young Argentine Damien Martinez takes up the 3rd choice role.
If the boss manages to beef up the squad in such a way, the chances will be high we can win a trophy next season.
